Sushi House of Orlando
Located just across from the busy Florida Mall, this restaurant is neat, friendly, authentic and bright. It has all the sushi and sashimi favorites, available a la carte or in dinner combinations. For those who still squirm at the thought of raw fish, there is also a list of other Japanese dishes, including teriyaki, tempura and udon noodles. To get the most out of your sushi feast, find yourself a table or a stool at the sushi bar where you can watch the talented sushi chefs at work. They also offer lunchtime delivery.
For us it was more coincidence that we found this sushi place after accessing wifi at the starbucks across the street an being very hungry.
We have been sushi-addicts for a couple of years now and not many sushi restaurants have met our standards since, but this place really rocks.
It was so good that we traveled there from Winter Haven (~45 miles one way) twice within 24h.
Everything was perfect, the taste, the composition and the presentation. The staff was very friendly and the talk with the chef very informative.
The surprise the first evening was an eel roll with banana. I would have never thought that it would taste so good.
Over all an incredible experience and for sure we will come again every time we hit the Orlando area.
Thanks for all.
We wanted to express our thanks for the fantastic sushi that we watched being made right in front of us with flair and finesse and the flavors left us in awe and eager for more! Our favorite was the "Heart Attack", it was to die for and became our new favorite! The Happy Sumo lifted our tastebuds out of the ring and the eel and seared tuna were exquisite and delightful.
Our chef was fun to talk to and we enjoyed watching him create our culinary masterpieces. We enjoyed ourselves very much and will be back on our next trip from Minneapolis.
Thanks for making our evening a special event! We loved it!

This place is incredible!!! My boyfriend and I went for Valentine's day...it was our first time ever even hearing about Sushi House. Let me tell you the sushi is the best I've ever tasted (and I've eaten a lot of sushi). The hostess and waitresses are so pleasant and do a great job with the service. Near the end of our meal, the owner, Dun, came to our table and just chatted with us for about 10 minutes. What a nice guy! The one-room resturaunt might not look like much, but don't let that fool you - it creates the perfect casual and fun atmosphere for its patrons to enjoy the BEST SUSHI IN THE WORLD! Definitely a memorable experience. We will be going back very soon.
In fall of 2006, my buddy (Brian) and I went to FL on vacation. I had been a sushi connoisseur for about 6-7 years, and I had been working on converting Brian. To this point, Brian had only tried sushi a couple of times, and had limited himself to basic rolls (i.e. California, spicy tuna). After offering to pay for dinner that night, he finally agreed to have sushi. We found Sushi House of Orlando online, just by chance. Brian had the "Wasabi Roll" and the "Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll." This was his turning point. We now have sushi at least once a week. We only wish that there was a Sushi House of Orlando in CT!!!
I revisited Sushi House of Orlando fall of 2007 while on vacation with my girlfriend. She's a strict vegetarian (still working on her), so she only eats the vegetarian rolls. Usually, (in CT) her rolls are simple and boring. At Sushi House of Orlando, her rolls were much more colorful. For example, when she ordered a cucumber and avacodo roll, the chef spread the avocado along the top rather than just cutting pieces for inside. For once she had rolls that Brian could not refer to as "gray!"
I will NOT visit FL without stopping at least once at the Sushi House of Orlando!
Dear Sushi House: We just want to say thank you for the great dinner. Your staff was very friendly and attentive and very helpful with the sushi menu and recommendations. Ignore the negative reviews because they probably had a bad day before they got to your place and would probably be unhappy no matter where they go. We your place and look forward to coming back soon! Thanks a bunch!
Sushi House Orlando has done it again. They have added some new sushi on both their sashimi and maki menus. We came on a Saturday night and it was a bit early but it was already getting crowded. Being a regular to sushi, we had to try all the sushi places in town and found that no one beats Sushi House for their creative sushi. Try the tataki items where they will come out to your table to prepare the sushi right in front of your eyes. The best part was definitely the fresh sashimi rolls. We love the new Red Dragon rolls, but be warned about the spicy topping. Hot-hot, but mmmmmm... yummy! m Very romantic as well.
This place is great! The girl with the one star rating has a bad attitude and it's no wonder she will not be happy anywhere. We have been going to Sushi House for over 2 years and I just had to finally share with others that our experience with the food and service here makes Sushi House a great place to enjoy sushi.
It's not in the best place in town, away from downtown and International Drive, but has great following of locals like ourselves.
They always update their menus items seasonally to keep things interesting. Great fusion sashimi and fusion rolls.
Hello again, this is Osiris!
July 27, 2007: My order for carry out was another "substitution". When I informed Management that I wasn't satisfied... I was offered a "free soup".
I will not waste my money at Sushi House of Orlando again! RE: #9620-9
P.S. I turned down the free soup! ^_^
This place is so fresh, delicious, and friendly.
The sushi here is so good I feel I will do it an injustice to use such everyday words to describe how wonderful it truly is. It is close to downtown Orlando in a little plaza, and you will go there thinking the same as I did, "I have never had better sushi in my life!".
