Boston's Fish House

Description

While fresh Florida seafood has its considerable charms, transplanted New Englanders often miss the fried clams, clam chowder and other specialties of their home states. This restaurant caters to those diners. The decor is extremely informal; customers order at the counter, seat themselves and await meals served on paper plates. On the menu are such treats as Lobster Bisque, and such entree favorites as Fried Haddock and Fried Clams, a house specialty. This restaurant is popular and does not accept reservations, so the wait can be quite long and many think it well worth it.

too expensive !
By ,
man.. what happened to the fish & chips dinner ? market value ?? wife got home after ordering ( TO GO ) 2 fish and chips lunches and it was $26.75 ! man, and that wasn't even dinner prices. wife also told me, that those prices didn't even include drinks or a salad ??? their menu used to be family affordable prices, but not anyomore. food is good, but to rich for our taste with a family of 4. bye bye boston's... send me a flyer when your prices come back down to earth.

Great food
By ,
This was the best seafood I have had ever. We will definately be back. Go early as it fills fast but even if you wait it is worth it for the true New England seafood taste.

Boston Fish House
By ,
I love the food and I love the service but I think the prices in most of the restaurant here is too high. I find that going out to dinner anymore means you almost have to be rich to do it. It really should not be that way.

Try the Chowder
By ,
The most delicious item on the menu is your first taste of the clam chowder. Huge pieces of clams and potatoes, it is my version of chicken soup for the soul. We have never had a bad meal, or a bad experience. The staff is efficient, friendly, and welcoming. We have gone so many times, they know us and call us by name. ( Where else can you get that?) A mainstay for our dinner out travels, we love and enjoy Boston's and the family we have come to know. B and P Shaw

Met expectations
By ,
I have heard so much about this place that we finally went and tried it yesterday. It was hard to find because it seats away from the road at the end of a shopping area so we drove by and missed it (we had to stop and ask for directions). The reviews I had read prepared us for waiting in line (it wasn't too bad around 5 PM on a Saturday). I expected plastic untensils and paper plates. This is no longer the case. We had china and a metal fork. The atmosphere is very informal but the service was good an efficient. My husband and I order a cup of the lobster bisque (delicious) and we both shared the broilded seafood platter. There was plenty of food for both of us. I highly recommend this place. Excellent food in a casual atmosphere and efficient service.

A Piece of New England in Orlando
By ,
This fish house has been a staple in Winter Park (a suburb of Orlando) for over 20 years. It gives Florida natives who haven't had the opportunity to visit the New England area to experiance the unique as tasty forms of cooking their seafood. My personal favorite is the Scallop dinner. The portions are just right so you don't feel so full that you are left uncomfortable. Fried or Broiled Boston's Fish House will fix it your way. Quality is not only a must but a way of life. The restaurant is closed for one hour each day to filter their oil. With a cult like following patrons are willing to wait for extened periods of time for a table (although take-out is also available). Boston's spends no money on advertisments rather relie totally on word of mouth and it hasn't failed them yet. Go try them!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fabulous!
By ,
Fabulous seafood - fun atmosphere - very laid back - only drawback is ordering - usually long lines and you have to make a decision quickly!

We'll be there tomorrow.
By ,
I live in Haines City as a year round resident now. I came from Maine so I know how our east coast fish should be cooked. Have enjoyed your establishment many times and will continue, just wish there was one closer to us.

Great New England Fried Seafood!
By ,
I love the portions on the Fried Seafood Captain's Platter! True New England taste! The only downside is you don't have an individual server, everyone on the floor helps each other out which actually slows it down if you need something. We go as often as we can for the authentic Boston seafood!
