Open party boat fishing at its finest
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/07
I have fished open party boats on both the west and east coasts, and probably every boat from Stewart to Key West, and the Reward Sportfishing Fleet has the cleanest and most helpful crew that I have seen. The catching is not always great because the entire Miami Bight has been overfished but I do consistently catch kingfish, snapper, cero and spanish mackeral, and bonito, with an occasional blackfin tuna, sailfish or grouper for variety. Triggerfish, sand tilefish, an assortment of jacks also add variety to the trip. As for marine life, one often sees bottlenose dolphin, several species of turtles, flying fish, and a variety of gull, terns and the ever present fish-finding, frigate birds. As for the scenery, you get a great view of the beachfront from Key Biscayne to Sunny Isles, which can be spectacular at night. As for the cost, you cannot beat it. It costs me more to drive to the boat than to go out fishing. Again the catching is up to you but with a little help from Wayne, Gus or Chris and you have a good chance to be successful.
