There are not many farms to be found in urbanized Miami these days, so this is a particularly delightful diversion for those in search of a little country atmosphere. Children in particular will enjoy this family-oriented park, with its pony rides and petting zoo (housed in a barn). Located in Hialeah, the park includes five lakes that have plenty of fishes. Visitors can also find picnic facilities, playgrounds, and an old-fashioned country store.

Plenty to do
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/04
There's plenty to do, but not much room to do it on the weekends. It doesn't feel like you're escaping the city life for some reason. I think it might be the crowds. Otherwise, it's awesome.

BEST PARK THIS SIDE OF I-95
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/04
Being a Miami Resident for 20 years now i can tell you that Amelia is a prime location for the spirited park enthusiast. Living right down the street from this park has allowed me to witness the expansion and development of this park from a small plot of land with few areas of interest to and huge park with zillions of things to do. An amazing Dogpark, Climbable Rock formations, great jungle gyms, An expanding Skatepark for the extreme, and tons of spots to just chill and watch the sunset. Great local to do your afternoon jog or get ready for a big test by cramming near the lake. Love this park mainly because its free during the week and 4 bucks during the weekend. Gotta love it!

Great Dog Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/04
This is a great place for dogs to go to. It now cost $4 to enter the park, but it's very spacious so it really makes up for the fee. 3 acres for just dogs. The dog section is really fun for all pets. There is a section for smaller dogs that has obstacle courses and ramps for dogs to play in. Further down the dog section there are little huts for the dogs to cool down in, a lake, and even a shower section. I think the park got a little greedy for $4 admission, but it really is nice to go with some friends, eat, relax, and enjoy the weather.
