If you want to experience the renowned Florida Everglades, but only have 2 hours and don't want to travel so deep into the Everglades, this is the place to be. Located only 11 miles west of the Florida Turnpike on US41, this place is home to 8 human inhabitants and scores of alligators as well as other Everglades wildlifes. Go for the airboat tour - I find my quick Everglades airboat experience exhillarating and informative. The guide, who is also the airboat driver, is witty and knowledgeable about the swamps and alligators. There is also a small alligator farm for those waiting to go on the airboat tours. And about tasting the exotic gator tails, there's nothing exotic about it. For a small sampler costing $15, I seriously think I had been ripped off.
