Nancy Forrester's Secret Garden, Key West

Found this Garden about 10 years ago, and have been going back every year, when I do my Key West vacation once a year. Just to go there and enjoy a nice quiet lunch among the sounds of the Gardens is good enough for me. When I'm lucky enough to run into Nancy in her Garden, its always a pleasure to speak with her about her beautiful garden. Yes the donation has gone up through the years, but it's worth it to help her keep this little slice of paradise going, for future visitors to enjoy. This is not a huge Botanical Garden, or anything near that size, but it is beautiful and serene, and you do get the feeling you are truly in a "Secret Garden".

I loved all of Key West on our visit-but this is thonly place that let's you geta feel of a tropical island with out all of the people! As for the guy who couldn't see giving a few bucks to help Nancy keep this AWESOME refuge open...well go get more Key Lime pie! You get fatter and I'll get blessed by unlabled botany and the chatter of beautiful birds!

We found treasure in the Keys this past week when we visited Nancy Forrester's Secret Garden in Old town Key West. There are not that many signs describing the plantings but, who needs a sign that says "Beauty here! Look!" My family ages 26 to 77 found the garden a haven from the concrete and it was a beautiful place to to just "be." Nancy herself talked to us for quite awhile and allowed my son to have his picture taken with one of her great endangered birds. The parrot jungles charge you out the wazoo for that type of photo op, but Nancy gave us that wonderful moment because she knows... she knows that we will never forget that day. She knows our environmental awareness was raised. She just knows... what's good and right and how all living things should be revered..and cared for. Thank you Nancy!

My friend and I went to the garden right before closing time and were never made to feel rushed. The plants are so beautiful and in this natural setting look almost unreal. Everything is placed as if it just appeared...nothing looks staged. My favorite thing was being surprised by the talkative and brightly colored birds. Most of the birds are friendly and want to have some of your attention. It was hard to leave, but I plan to return many times and bring along someone new each time.

Vastly overrated...while distinctly different from surrounding neighborhood, it is but an overgrown backyard with no plant identifications or thoughts to the layout. Certainly not worth the $10 per 'human'. Very, very disappointed....spent my time sulking in a Key Lime pie....

Nancy's Secret Garden is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. Nancy is a wonderful person who is very passionate about what she does. I would advise anyone to visit Nancy's garden.

Wonderful place to see lush trees and incredible flowers. We actually went to a wedding in this garden and it was a beautiful, serene backdrop. Also great for birdwatching and photography. We had quit a suprise when we found all the parrots and other tropical birds. For $6 this is a steal as well as an oasis.Wonderful escape, these gardens are just beautiful.

The only place in Key West that`s untouched non-commerical a wonderful place to read a book or just have sometime for yourself ! Please Say HI ! to Hammerhead I miss U !

My husband and I were married in Nancy's Secret Garden almost 10 years ago (on Nov. 26). We are planning on celebrating our anniversary this year in Key West. A trip back to Nancy's Secret Garden will complete the trip. We have very fond memories of the Garden and our beautiful wedding day and are really looking forward to seeing our special place. I highly recommend it for special occasions or just a beautiful walk in the garden.

I loved everything about The Secret Garden, Nancy Forrester is a beautiful person doing great things in this community. She works very hard for this place she loves. Please, step off Duval and find this amazing place it is well worth the time and money,there are many different tropical birds that are very beautiful. It is a absolute must see, I will go back anytime I am in Key West.
