What a View!
The lighthouse museum is well worth the very reasonable price. if you love maritime history, or just love beautiful views, make it a point to go. The lightkeeper's home, which is now the museum has wonderful period displays, fascinating photos, news stories, & other framed prints around the walls to read & explore. The close ups of the actual lights are neat, the one is HUGE!!!!!
Headed up inside the tower, there is a winding staircase with views at every window on each landing. Once you get to the top, hang on to your hats, for here you catch the island breeze at it's best. The views are enough to take your breath away.
My kids also loved the huge old banyan tree on the grounds, & couldn't wait to climb into it. it's very kid friendly, & a great photo opportunity.
It's a nearly magical experience, & I will definitely make the hike up those long & winding stairs again next time I go back!
