Description

Located across Truman Annex is the important and popular tourist attraction Harry S. Truman Little White House. This former naval base served as the White House of America for the winter session until 1952. Though the landmark is historic in nature, it is more like a living museum and till date official functions and meetings are held here. A tour of this house will give you an insight into the Truman Presidency and details about the Cold War tactics used against war with Russia. The documents, furniture, rooms including the dining section explore the different aspects of life of the President Harry S. Truman. While you are in Florida, do visit this historic structure that is a part of the elite list of U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Nice and a/c is cool

This is an interesting tour if you like historical stuff and the a/c was nice and cool. However, we wish we would have known that you can get discounted tickets by purchasing tickets to see more than one historical home. Check this out before buying your tickets. Our tour guide was interesting and entertaining. We enjoyed it very much!

A Glance Back

I really appreciated the original restoration. Definately, a worth while visit for history lovers. You can almost see Truman sitting at the poker table.

Great tour, especially during the rain or down time

Our tour guide was an energetic and informed retired gentleman. His Q&A session after the tour was a delight. He really enjoyed his work. This is a different look at President Truman and his stays in Key West. I took the tour during an afternoon thundershower. The tour is a good value and does not take long.

We loved this home. It was beautiful inside and out. The tour guide was great and very knowledgable. Everything was very interesting and done very well. You should not miss this part of key west!

Nice tour, short & sweet...

I am not much of a history buff but this was a nice little tour and worth the money. You get the background on Truman's many visits to Key West while he was in office. Doesn't take long and it is well planned and easy to do. A step back in time and fun to do...

Don't miss it!

We visited the Little White House in Nov. 2004 and would go back again. It is a part of history and we recommend to all that you take this in when in KW. The walking tour is not long, any one can do it. There is a lot of history here and you will certainly learn something new about those years in our nations history. Don't miss it!

Most Historical Place in Key West

The Little White House is located about two blocks from Mallory Square. It is on the former Navy Base so not easily found, but it was worth the hunt.It is well maintained and has great entertaining guides. The tour lasted about 1 hour and one of the best in Key West. Five Presidents have used it, former President Clinton was there last week. They have a nice gift shop- lots of educational and interesting items. No tacky tourist stuff. Also there were two rooms of free exhibits and a free guide to their gardens.
