Parawest Parasailing Adventures
Rise above it all with the help of the folks at Parawest. This exciting activity combines the thrill of skydiving, the tranquility of hot-air ballooning and the whoop-de-doo of hang-gliding with the adventure of parasailing. After you are harnessed into a parachute, a speedboat takes off, causing you to rise in the air. The eight-minute flight includes a freefall and a dip, so don't eat a big meal before you try this. On the longer 10-minute flight, you'll rise about 600 feet up in the air.
Everything about the trip was great. The guys were friendly and knowledgeable. We only waited a few minutes after paying to be on our way, and once in the air, I felt like we got a fairly long ride. On the same trip with us were 2 other women who went up before us. They only dipped their feet, but we asked to get really wet. The guys running it were very accommodating either way. They seemed like they were having a good time and that they enjoyed their jobs. I also like that they are a smaller company.
You could tell these two (one the owner) did not want to take us out. Were were the only ones who booked with them and now I know why. They took forever to leave the dock waiting for other people. They may have been hung over...boat driver was popping pills left and right! Assistant was a sketchy little guy. Only ever spoke to us to sell a $40 video and on the way in told us that if we like the trip we should tip them as thats how they get paid...Plain offensive and when I said I had no cash...he kindly gave me directions to the ATM down the street. Was akward and made us quite uncomfortable how pushy they were. On top of that we were up about 8min. Stay away!!!
The guys on the boat were great! Safe, fun, helpful and did a great job! The price is right!
The woman from Nebraska who checks people in is an unfriendly inhospitable expletive, who should not be allowed to interact with other human beings, but rather she should be confined to an enclosed area from within which she cannot treat people rudely!
from the moment we got on the boat these two guys highly encouraged us to buya video and extra pictures which were very costly. We did finally agree to buy the video but it didnt stop here. Before we got off the boat they highly encouraged us to tip them. We paid $75.00 for the parasailing, why did we need to tip them? When we didnt tip them, one of the guys followed us off the boat and said "hey, did you have fun, we said yes, he said then tips are highly encouraged. We said, we didnt bring any extra money. He was very rude and followed s for a while before finally leaving us alone. Terrible manners.
Great fun for two single ladies 40ish who had never been to FL. Sweet, fun and great crew members. I just watched to photo package I purchased (40 bucks) all pics are great and video is really fun to watch. It was the gentlemen on the boat that made the experience so much extra fun! They really made sure everyone had a good time!!
After being pressured and quoted high fees at Sebago and others we walked up to the Parawest boat agreed to a price and were off within minutes. This was the first experience two of us had with parasailing and the whole crew was wonderful! The kept it safe but made it as wild as they could for a windy day. We did tandem and flew high above the others and spent almost 30 full minutes in the air. What an awesome experience! We went with their video/photo package and were very pleased. Don't waste time with the rest, go with the best!
Very Disappointed. We were scheduled for the sunset trip at 7:00pm. They came back late from the previous trip. So it was darker than expected. The photos are a joke, because they were so blurry. The video is horrible and not worth $40. Do yourself a favor and take your own photos. The trip overall was below average. There was 12 of us total on the boat. Since THEY were running late they cut the time to 6 minutes per couple. We will go to Fury next time.
There guys are great funny and really like there job. There have a photo and video package you can buy and he does a great job taking the photos. We went out with one other couple and had a great time. Ask for the wild ride. Also we had a coupon and they had no problem accepting it....so we went up with 2 and paid $42.00 and had a great time. Would go again.....Dont fly with Fury they suck use these local boys that have been in business for 17 years.
My family and I were looking for a parasailing place in Key West and found Parawest. We signed up and joked with the guys working there before the trip. WE got on and there was one other couple with us. On the boat ride, we all talked and joked. UP in the air was great and there were excellent views. It was very fun.
If you are Indian or Chinese (or any other minority i guess), you are in for some sugar-coated mean comments at this place. The crew of two jokers at this parasailing joint will pass non-stop comments (on the sly) about you. We had this bad experience today. Tried confronting the guy calmly about this and he (of course) lied & cursed. So! Again, if you are non-white, do yourself a favor and go to Fury or another parasailing place.
