Conch Tour Train, Key West

The Conch Train is to Key West what the Dumbo Ride is to Walt Disney World. Its the old classic attraction of the island that everyone should ride once. It is a little expensive, but the tour is wonderful, and just cheesy enough to remind you that it has been around since the 50s. Its a 90 minute tour and you get to see the entire island and learn a lot about the island's history and architecture. Everytime I take someone to Key West for the fist time I make them start with a ride on the Conch Tour because it really gives you a background and feel for the island. When I got married in Key West I even arranged a private Conch Train to take all of the guests on a tour for the same reason. Its a wonderful, informative tour that is also very entertaining and nostalgic.

It's great, but the same company offers a trolley tour that covers almost as much ground, has the same basic history and information from the guides, and allows you to get off and on at different spots - so you can see the island and stop to shop and eat at a couple of different places ... very cool. You can't do that on the conch train - you are stuck as the earlier guy says for 90 minutes.

It's the most informative way to see Key West and covers pretty much all of the points of interest that Bone Island has to offer.
