Island City Flying Service Incorporated, Key West

line crew took care of the plane but left us wondering where to go, standing on the tarmac... the lady at the desk was ancient and incompetent.... They could use some competition. the FBO is basically a trailer home.. needs work.... for Key West, it's just sad... I'd expect an FBO like this maybe in rural Arkansaw.. ALSO LOOK! I just found a court case... in the past, one of their employees stole an airplane and wrecked it. "GENERAL ELECTRIC sued STEVE DIEZEL and ISLAND CITY to recover damages arising out of the destruction of GENERAL ELECTRIC'S aircraft by DIEZEL, an employee of ISLAND CITY. GENERAL ELECTRIC'S lessee, Southern Express, failed to lock the aircraft and DIEZEL, while off duty, in the early morning hours unexpectedly took the plane for a ride resulting in its destruction."

Anyone who can avoid this FBO should do so. Unfortunately the next one is only on Marathon Island. In any event, beware! Not only are they dishonnest (Overcharghed me at least 7 or 8 Gal of fuel) but also extremely unfriendly when one complains. Having a monopoly, they seem not to care.

We had a terrific experience at Island City FBO in July 2011. Line Crew was attentive, service was excellent, rental car was waiting for us to drive it to our King Air. COuld not ask for more, except more time to spend in the KEYS. Thanks to Paul DePoo and his staff for adding to our great time in Key West. KT Budde-Jones

This FBO should be avoided. Unfortunately they are the only ones on the island. They overcharged me for fuel. Flew from KFMY to KEYW with a C172 and full tanks, time en rute 1:30. Asked them to top off. Next day I am charged 26 Gallons. Yeah right. When I questioned, they could only say that this was what the meter read. Thank you very much. A $15 overnight charge on top of that. And the phe premises are filthy.

Don't listen to my husband, he's been thrown out of every FBO on the east coast. Sorry you had to deal with him and sorrier for me, we've been married 35 years.

I thought I'd get in some flight time during my vacation and called ICFS because they're the only game in town. It started badly when my instructor didn't show (admittedly he is independent and doesn't work for ICFS). Repeated attempts to find out what was going on were only met with a cold demeanor from the desk staff who told me "these things happen" and expected me to sit down and shut up. Finally I told them I'd call the pilot myself to reschedule and left the office, only to be followed outside by the owner who told me to take my "Yankee attitude" and not come back! Unbelievable!!! Sadly, his behaviour made me lose my cool and I heaped a few choice words on his bald head. Ironically, he and his staff have more attitude than any Yankee I've ever met. P.S. Guess what Mr. Owner? I'm a Canadian not a Yankee, and before I met you nobody ever accused me of having attitude.

The FBO is much better now and the people behind the counter go out of their way to assist customers, unlike previous employees who I guess were fired for being rude. We flew into EYW the other day and not only did the lady running the office help us get a room she also told us where to get great local seafood. She reminded me of my grandmother she was so old and nice. I'd go back just to visit her she was very friendly. I love Key West and would live there if the house prices go down.

This FBO in KeyWest is as far as you can go in USA. The service is as good as it can get, for being a real small airport they stay really busy. So, if they cant park you or get to fuel u real quick , give them a break! The Linemen and people behind the desk try to "lick the floor" that u walk on when u come in, they are usally always busy with the FBO and the airlines. and one other thing they only have a small amount of employees so bare with them. this is the best, layed back airport ive ever been to

I flew into Key West over the holidays and I thought the serice was excellent. I got greeted very nicely with this girl with curly hair. I think her name was Alisha. She was very nice and her outfit looked great. The FBO is a great! I found the owner to be a very nice man. I can't wait to go back!

The woman behind the counter is not caring. I observed her being rude to another pilot based there and untruthful to me. On there otherhand the line crew is okay. If you do not mind driving from Marathon airport you can avoid this unpleasant customer service.
