Green Parrot Bar, Key West

The crowd is a mix of locals and tourists while the atmosphere is laid back and fun. The girls are the bartenders during the day while the guys take over at night; all are pleasent and efficient (except for the older woman - always counting tips & your change is always different for the same drink). The bouncer(s) were a shirt that says Green Parrot Dance Instructor as they will dance anyone causing trouble out the door. Enjoyed our time there.

Some of the greatest blues bands make it here and you will not be disappointed from it reminds me me of some Chicago Blues clubs but no cover here and if you want to see the new blues you must check out up spare he is what the blues are about

Who better to write a review for a place other than a former employee? For a number of years before I had even begun working at the Parrot it was a big part of my life. Not mainly because of the alcohol...there's no shortage of places on the island to get drunk at. No, it was the people who worked there. Many of whom embraced this out of towner in his early twenties just down form Chicago. The Johnsons had me over for Christmas. John Vagnoni helped me purchase my first computer. Eric and Terri helped my girlfriend and I build our porch. Patrick taught me what being a bartender was really all about. And the list goes on and on....My stint at the bar ended and I eventually moved from the island. 5 years of sobriety and I finally realize that I still do love the place dearly and could live there without succumbing to the temptations that the island lifestyle place before someone. Great music. Great Owners. Some serious personnel changes however... hopefully it has not lost it's most important commodity! Go in and check it out!

February 2008 Meteor Smokehouse I have been told is no longer owned or part of the Green Parrot Bar. An up scale dining room is next to the Parrot and next to it is an outside patio area for more casual dining. The new dining room and patio are Meteor. Find the Green Parrot and you have found Meteor. The patio bar and dining area has a super happy hour. Stop in and have a drink or two. Try some of the appetizers they will not disappoint you. If you are just starting out for a fun filled night in Key West or looking for some good BBQ Metor is the place to go. Friendly staff that works hard to make you happy. Frank L from Connecticut

Well let start by saying , it was 6 weeks of fun, all the bartenders give the green parrot it's flair, the bands that play there are rocking and fun to watch along with checking out the crowed. The parrot has different moods and if you can do the long hall, a hole day there is a wonderous and weird thing to go through, from the ladys in the day to the shift change at 7pm when the boyz come out to 10pm when the door men come and stand they always give you a smile if you deserve it. I enjoy the people there more on the week day when you get to know the faces and local tradishions the comspire through the day. ALL IN ALL I HAD A BIG TIME , and there was not one day that i would not stop by sometimes for a drink or just to see hows there. THE WOMES HAND DRYER IS GREAT.

This is an excellent bar, with good drink prices, a good selection of draft beer, a great staff and just the kind of atmosphere I was looking for in a trip to Key West. The blues band playing during my visit was great. The crowd was fun and into the music. What impressed me most was the bar staff. These guys were slinging drinks like I've never seen before - fast and strong. I hate waiting a long time for a drink; here, you don't wait long.
