Sloppy Joe's, Key West

My wife and I don't drink, but she allowed me to make the trek to Sloppy Joes because of its Hemingway heritage and the relatively good buzz from those who were at our hotel. It was loud as hell, as any good bar leading up to Memorial Day weekend should be off Duval Street. The waitresses were friendly and quick to refill our drinks and check in on our food. The food is bar food, but pretty tasty bar food. PLEASE HAVE THE SLOPPY JOE! It was great, and I don't usually even have a manwich if I can avoid it. It was a Friday night and there was some live music. The performers involved as much of the bar as they could and the bar staff played along without ever losing track of any of the patron's needs (being someone who works with people, I took special notice of this). Just a fun time.

I would give this a 5 stars if it had good food. The music is really cool, good people watching and great drink. DO NOT EAT HERE, but come for a drink.

If you're in the mood for a big party - frat style - this is the place to go. Ernest Hemingway used to hang out here. And, according to the ghost tour app we had, his spirit still likes to party here. We didn't see him, but had fun looking.

We had a great time. Just hours after we married, we went to Sloppy Joe's to begin our celebration. Employees and customers alike treated us like a king and queen. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and exciting all at once. We'd return every year if we could, but we'll be back on our fifth anniversary. That's a special year mark for us just like our experience at Sloppy Joe's.

Best chilli-cheese fries ever! Always live music--just a fun place to chill and experience the Key West joie de vivre.

The fish sandwich is ginormous, I needed an extra bun and damn tasty. The burgers are very good also, and come back at night for a good time. The mudslides and margaritas are reccomended.

Sloppy's is a great place to go, good food by day and great partying by night!!! They have some pretty good bands playing and the crowd is a pretty good mix of both older and younger crowd.
Definitely a must-visit if you're in town!
