Best breakfast in Maple Valley
You can usually tell a lot about a diner by how full the parking lot is on a weekend morning. At the Testy Chef on any given Saturday or Sunday, typically every space is taken and patrons double-park, spill over into the parking lot of a neighboring business or on rare occasions park right in the drive-thru espresso lane.
Locals know that their patience with the parking situation will be rewarded once they step into the tiny restaurant and indulge in the best breakfast they'll find in at least a 20-mile radius. The Testy Chef also serves up a tasty lunch, but breakfast is where they really shine.
In addition to the standard fare, they offer unique specials such as a blue cheese omelet, and daily specials including biscuits and gravy or the Testy Mess -- a plate of eggs, bacon, potatoes O'Brien with melted cheese, and toast -- which could easily serve two or three people.
Service is friendly though sometimes a bit rushed. Remember to bring cash, as the Testy Chef does not accept credit cards.
