Located approximately seven miles west of Fort Lauderdale, Markham Park attracts avid boaters and fishers alike. The 26-acre lake features ramps for launching boats into the New River Canals. A popular feature is the park's outdoor target range, which includes rifle, pistol and skeet shooting. The park also rents canoes, paddleboats, and johnboats for use in the park. Fishing is permitted from the shores of both the lake and the canals. Fishing licenses are required for those 16 and older. Call for rental rates and additional information.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

My son got his pecker caught in the chain of a dirt bike. The park ranger enjoyed taking stabs at the swelling with his punishment utensils, but nothing seemed to help. There was plenty of wild life tho! yay

Relaxing

Nice family park with a little something for everyone. As a pilot I always visit the RC flying field where you can always meet a new friend.

Great Fun!

This is a great place to find fun! You can go with your family, friends or maybe even by yourself and have an awesome time. There are many things to do, from pic-nicing to mountain biking on a trail. Whatever your hobbies and interests may include you're bound to find at least one of them available at markham park.

see the astronomy lab

Simple, natural (bring mesquito spray), with plenty for the kids to do. Check directions carefully. Not great signage. Astronomy amateurs meet most saturday nights and is great viewing for kids and adults.

1st time camping

I loved Markham park. I went there with my church and didn't want to leave. It was my first time camping and the atmosphere was enjoyable and sleeping under the stars never seem so inviting.

Great ride for Florida

Amazing trail for "flat" Florida, with inclines and big downs and great drops offs. Incredible variation in riding types with many different skill selections from amature to balck diamond. One of the best trail in Florida.
