Aurora Hills Golf Course
Designed by Henry Hughes in 1968, this 6,735 yard course is convenient to central Denver. It features enough mature trees, sand traps and bunkers to bring the humble-factor into play and keep you guessing on whether to play it safe or bring out the big sticks. Signature holes include the 545-yard, par-five 10th hole with a dogleg to the right and a water hazard on both the left and right sides of the fairway.
Attended a corporate meeting in Denver, I was asked to set up a golf outing for 16 guys. As I live on the East Coast, all my contact with them was via email. They really took care of us! Gave us prime Sunday morning tee times, aquired additional rental clubs, and provided gift certs for prizes. And this was for a small group. They treated us like we had rented the whole place! Can't say enough good about the place.
As to the course, it was wide open and flat, as I assume most "plains" courses are. Very fair for the high handicapper, but still good for the scratch player. Most 5's are reachable in 2, and the greens were perfect. A most enjoyable day for our group, and we highly recommend this course.
