Eldora, much to the enjoyment of locals, does not boast of a glitzy ski village, or have celebrity sightings. For while all the crowds migrate to the better-known areas in the state, locals enjoy superb skiing without the crowds. Located just 21 miles west of Boulder, the area offers 54 trails serviced by 10 lifts. It blends an almost even mix of beginner, intermediate, and expert trails, making it perfect for families of varying ski levels. Snowboarders crave this mountain and its three terrain parks, which include the steepest half-pipe in Colorado.
