Jump from its twin-engine jet-propelled aircraft from 12,500 feet (3810 meters), free falling faster than 100 miles an hour. Beginners can try a tandem jump strapped to an instructor, with a parachute for two. You can even get your tandem jump videotaped for posterity. My friend and I thouroughly enjoyed our experience on Aug 9. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the guy helping us dress in the jumpsuits and harnesses, and our photographers and instructors.
My friend wasn't able to wear her hearing aid for the jump, and her instructor Jamie was so fantastic abot making sure she understood all the instructions before getting into the noisy plane.
My insructor, Rich, was professional, funny and put me right at ease so the jump was so fluid and awesome.
We highly suggest getting photographers on the first jump, they make it even more fun and it's a great souvinier.
It's a good idea to get there a bit earlier than your reservation if you have one, and the cash-friendly discounts are nice, too. We'll be back next year!
We were very disappointed in our experience at Mile High Skydiving! We had an appointment at 12:30 in the afternoon. After getting checked in, we waited around for 2 hours. This was supposed to be a fun day to celebrate mine and my brother's birthdays. After waiting for hours, an instructer informed us that they weren't going to let my brother go. He is in a wheelchair and they didn't feel his landing would be safe under the current weather conditions. I understand that weather is unpredictable and that some things are out of the company's control. But what was under their control was how they handled the situation. The weather was consistant all day: hot, dry, no wind. This kind of weather apparently leads to faster landings. Rather than warn customers that the weather may prohibit skydiving, they rush you right in to signing waivers and collecting your money. Then they had us wait in a crowded room for two hours and just when we thought it was finally our turn, the instructer told us my brother could not go. His attitude was not very appropriate. He suggested that the rest of our group go up and offered my brother a lame apology. The employees and managers at the facility only made excuses and weren't helpful either. Other customers were unhappy about waiting around for hours in the heat either. The place was way overbooked and overall, service was not good. I would not recommend choosing this facility unless you enjoy long waits and poor customer relations.
I loved this company. Each professional was experienced and showed interest in you. Safety was very important. The aircraft was safe and reliable. The overall jump lasted 5 minutes. There was no queezy feeling in my stomach it felt as if I were floating in air.
