Bear Creek Lake Park, Lakewood

nice park, but very poorly managed. Disabled van camper,2 night stay, tagged our site and went on a day trip, left chairs and dog rope on site. Came back someone else in our site, chairs, rope and tag gone.After running down a ranger, found out he took our chairs, but didn't admit to taking our site tag. We were left to find another site, luckily another was empty. Einstein ranger couldn't understand the problem. They do display the corps of engineers logo on their sign, but it's not run like one.

This is a great place to hang out for a day but if you like to camp....stay away! It lacks the outdoor feeling, you can see into peoples houses and the lights from the Home Depot are right on you.

I LOVE Bear Creek Lake Park! I am training for my 26th marathon and most of my long runs have been at BCSP. We are so lucky to have this gem within the city. You don't have to be a runner to appreciate the park. I also do a lot of walking/biking and I always feel I'm "in the country" instead of 10 minutes from home when I'm there. Thank you Lakewood for supporting this oasis!!

This, along with Green mountain, is a great places to escape the urban sprawl that surrounds you in every direction. You can get out of the chain hotels and restuarants and breathe some fresh air and remember what Lakewood used to be.

There is so much to do and see. So many trails and everywhere you look what a wonderful and peaceful place. At one point I sat on a rock in the middle of the water and enjoyed every moment as a listened to the water rush by and all the creatures in the woods.

There is so much to do in this park. Fish, Swim, Horseback riding, walking, camping, BBQ's. But more than that it is a beautiful slice of Colorado.
