This is the premier children's bookstore in Denver, stocking over 85,000 titles. Most books are generally discounted 10 to 30 percent. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making this a common destination for parents and teachers. The store, located in a strip mall, is brimming with unusual oddities as well as all the traditional favorites such as Curious George and Good-Bye Moon. In addition, there are pretzels to snack on and the stuffed characters from popular books patiently wait for story hour with the kids.
I've been shopping at Bookies for years, and there is no other store with a wider selection of high quality children's books, a more informed, helpful staff, or a more welcoming feel. In addition to children's books of every genre, they also carry a wonderful selection of adult books, professional teacher texts, games, jewelry, and gifts. Make sure you stop at Bookies when you're in Denver!
Bookies is a fabulous place to shop. I lived in Colorado for many years before moving to California. I visit Colorado two or three months a year. I put aside a little extra money for my trip to Bookies. The staff is wonderful, the selection is complete and unique. A great place for Writing resources for teachers. This is my absolute favorite place to shop.
Bookies has many educational materials available in their store. I love the variety of books as well as the numerous levels of books. Bookies has books for the very beginning reader to the most advanced reader and tons of teacher resources. This is a great place to go and buy a birthday present for a child of any age. You will be amazed at the amount of merchandise that they have packed in their store. The people who work in the store and friendly and knowledgeable. They give a discount if you use cash. Happy shopping!!!
Bookies is one of our favorite places to go! We'll often go wander through the shelves and shelves of books just for a quiet activity. There are always children chasing a parent saying "Mom, look what I found!" A great place to visit before a road trip.
