Located downtown across from the Denver Pavilions, Marlowe's offers a huge dining area that is perfect for a get together with friends. It is impossible to miss the mammoth neon martini illuminating the entrance. The menu is meat heavy, with steaks and chops leading the fine dining selections. The heated patio is perfect for people watching, and the many TVs for sports watching. Beyond the tasty burgers, pizzas, and sandwiches, it offers prime rib and delicious steaks. The fish is good and Saturday night brings lobster specials. The full bar is known for its martinis.
Located on a corner, Marlowe's has it all for ambiance. During the warm Summer day we were there, the windows were peeled back and we got a great view of the street out front and the breeze throughout was great. However, the food was overpriced, but reasonably good. For the four of us, with one appetizer and one beer the tab was $100.
You're probably thinking that's OK, except that the bill is for two adults (one drank water, the other drank a beer) and two kids (neither drank a beer!) who ate off the kids' menu. Plate costs were closer to $30 than $20 and it wasn't worth it.
Skip Marlowe's and go somewhere else. (We also tried The Cheesecake Factory--though a chain, was excellent--and an Italian place, maybe "Maggiano's" which was pretty good.)
