Second Time Around
I was here when I was 13 and wanted to re-visit it as an adult. I have been to other caverns and it is very disappointing when compared to others. If it was the first cave I'd ever been in, I wouldn't enter another. The drive up the mountain to the entrance is on the side of the mountain with hairpin curves and beautiful views. The observation deck is wonderful, but you could experience that without spending a dime. We had to wait 2 hours for our tour, and then we were in a large group with very obnoxious people who made it their sole aim to show how UNknowledgeable the tour guide was. She was a very nice person and did her best, but the company apparently does not train very well. Easily answered questions were answered with, "You know, I really don't know that..." and any challenges were met with, "Oh well, that's what they teach me to say." Pay attention to the signs about stairs, there are wooden stairs, steel stairs, stone stairs, uneven stairs, small stairs, and my thighs burned for several days. :D I will not return-not worth the money or the time. The cave formations aren't even lit very well. It seems that if they would at least use some colored gels to point out different formations, it would add some interest to the tour.
