Cliff House, Manitou Springs

This is the second time I have stayed here looking forward to sitting by the fireplace and having a drink before dinner only to find out that the lounge is closed because it has been booked for a wedding. It would be nice if the wedding party could use the meeting room where the wedding takes place and the other hotel guests would not have to be displaced. If not at least tell the guest when they are booking that this portion of the hotel is not going to be available, do not tell them after they check in that they can call room service if they want a drink like I heard the front desk person tell someone else.

We had breakfast at the Cliff House yesterday before departing for Denver. The hotel itself is beautifully restored. The dining room has windows all around with views of the Rockies. The Wild Mushroom Florentine with Smoked Bacon, Wild Mushrooms, Baby Spinach & Poached Eggs Served on a Toasted English Muffin with Parmesan Veloute for $11.00 is not only at the top of my list for the best breakfast ever, but also for the best value. The service was excellent. The entire dining staff as well as the desk staff were friendly, gracious, and professional. The Hotel is situated in the quaint town of Manitou Springs, just minutes from the entrance to Garden of the Gods park.

Lovely dining experience in old world setting. I live in NYC and I believe the food is comparable to any fine dining experience I had at home. The service is impeccable and I have no hesitations to returning in the near future.

...we have done quite a bit of traveling, and I have never experienced anything quite like The Cliff House at Pikes Peak! Great service, wonderful food and beautiful rooms. What more can tou ask for?
