Serving East Indian cuisine fresh from a Tandoor clay oven, this south Boulder restaurant is a great stop for healthy eats. The $6.95 lunch buffet is a magnet for the business crowd. The Tandoor oven utilizes high heat to seal in natural flavors. These flavors come through in the traditional stuffed breads that serve as inexpensive starters. Other appetizers include Dall and Mulligatawny soups. You can order an array of meats from the fiery clay oven including chicken, lamb and shrimp. Vegetarian and curry dishes are also available.
We've been to Tandoori Grill many times and frequently get takeout as well. We've never been there for lunch, so I can't speak for that, but the dinners we've had have been consistently excellent. This is the best Indian food in Boulder, by far.
My wife and I enjoy the fine Indian food, great service and overall atmosphere at the Grill. Our California and international guests, which frequently visit, universally love the restaurant, which we always use as a special treat time after time.
When our older son got married two years ago we were able to arrange a fantastic wedding reception hosted by the owners, which was very special and totally enjoyed by everyone. They continue to frequent the grill and bring their friends there as well.
Lastly, we believe the prices are very reasonable and value the convenient parking just outside the doors.
This is my first time eating at an Indian Restaurant and I was so impressed. I wasn't sure what to get and my friend and the staff were so helpful in helping me pick foods that I would like. I really liked the chicken masala and naan. I thought the rice pudding was ok but it was a touch to sweet for me. Price was a little higher then I expected but that might be the norm for Indian fare.
Overall very good. Like the kabli-naan the best.
Frequently out of the listed specials.
Recommend dessert on the house. Rice is inexpensive and a great way to thank the customer is to serve rice pudding at the end of the meal.
We just tried the lunch buffet on Sunday but if that is any indication of the main menu, we're never going back!
The choice was limited, the mixed vegetables seemed to be just quickly thrown together with some spices and the chicken curry was nothing to write home about. All in all a very average experience. The owners were surely Punjabi (from Punjab - a state known for it's excellent cuisine) and could have done a much better job.
The only think that was good was the daal. A mix of black and chana lentils - it was possibly better than most daals I've eaten at Indian restaurants in Denver.
This place ROCKS! The food is absolutely above and beyond. The lunch buffet is too good to be true, and the service is fantastic! They treat us like family. You will feel very well taken care of at the Tandoori Grill. It's the Best Indian food in Boulder you will find.
