Maroon Bells, Aspen

I went here during september and the leaves and secenery was beautiful. Go during the fall it was a hight light of the trip.

Maroon bells is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! The best time to check out the mountains in May-Sept when it is not snow-capped. The atmosphere is enchanting and the walk towards the maroon lake is beautiful. Unless you are not satisfied with the walk, you really do not have to hike up to crater lake, which is a good 3 hrs round trip. The scenery is worthwile, however.

If you're looking for quintissential Colorado mountain scenery, Maroon Bells is one of the best areas to visit. The view is gorgeous, with a clear lake reflecting the jagged snow-covered peaks. In July, the meadows are filled with wildflowers of every hue, hummingbirds and butterflies flit about and the warm sun makes hiking the trails an easy task. In the fall, the numerous aspen groves turn golden, further intensifying the scene. There are numerous hiking trails in the vicinity for all abilities. I particularly enjoyed the Scenic Loop Trail around the lake, about 2.2 miles of easy hiking. Due to the limited parking facilities at the site, daytime access is restricted to busses that leave from the Aspen Highlands terminal - you can also catch a bus to Aspen Highlands from downtown Aspen.

Maroon Bells was very pretty. If you go there be sure to have a camera, the scenery is beautiful. Maroon Bells is a great place to take a hike and take in the natural beauty of the mountains. The best time to visit is in the summer and bring some water if you're deciding on spending some time there. Maroon Bells really are beautiful and someting you would remember for the rest of your life.
