Mirror Lake Day Hike, Wawona

This is a "short" hike in hikers terms. I believe it is only about a mile or two from Camp Curry. We found it best to hike the trail that parallels the road and not hike straight up the road. Expect a LOT of people in this area if you are planning to visit in the summer. Not only does the bus drop people off right at the lake, this is probably the most hiked place in the valley other than Lower Yosemite Falls. These days it's not so much of a "lake" anymore but rather a marshy meadow. There are areas where you can find great reflections of Half Dome though. Bring your insect repellant in the summer because there are misquitos there. If you find Mirror Lake to be too crowded for your taste you can opt to continue hiking up the Teneya Canyon to Teneya Bridge and then come back on the opposite side of the river. This will add a couple miles to your hike and there will be a lot less people around to spoil the scenery.
