Sponsored by the Yosemite Association, this series of seminars changes annually and ranges from birding to backpacking to writing. For example, Birds of Southern Yosemite is a summer class which studies the forest-dwelling blue grouse and goshawk, and McGillivrays warblers that find shelter in lush streamside habitats. A two-night pack and hike explores how waterwheels were used along the Merced River. Family trips, with young children and with teens are often offered, as are classes in photography, natural history and writing.
