This breathtaking and spectacular sight is located on Highway 41 just north of Wawona, and just south of the Valley Floor. This popular spot is the most photographed view of the valley. It received its name because it is the first view of the valley after exiting the tunnel. Be sure to drive slow and watch for pedestrians crossing from one of the two parking areas. Take plenty of film and batteries for your camera.
I love Yosemite, It is probably the most beautiful park in the world, It makes you believe in a Supreme Being, Only God could have made that place. It so beautiful that i had to go and work up there in the 1990s and it was a wonderful experience, i will never forget it. I saw lots of Bears, deer, wonderful sunsets, work with some wonderful people. Yosemite is awe inspiring, If you have not been there. you are truly missing out.
we were there in march and the snow was so much fun for my little girls and hiking the waterfalls was just an expierance that they will speak about for the rest of their lives. The locals of yosemite are very friendly and helpful.I am planning a trip in a few months
Absolutely, positively awe inspiring. Hence the name, Inspiration Point. It took my breath away well worth it (especially if you're an artist like myself) It gets a little busy during summer, but take advantage of it. Warning, the weather is unpredictable at that alitiude, so carry at least a jacket, chains (for your car) and an umbrella.
its absolutly beautiful. i would love to see it in the winter too.. you can see el cap, half dome, and bridalveil all in one picture perfect place. the drive up from the valley is quick, and its even more amazing coming from the other side of hte tunnel.
This is absolutely a must-see. We saw this after being down in the valley and seeing Bridalveil and El Capitan from the ground. In this order, we saw each one up close and then all together from afar.
There's a convenient turnaround on the non-spectacular, west side of the tunnel - useful for when you come from the east and only want to see the view but still want the excitement of going through the tunnel.
The tunnel view is simply breathtaking. Especially if you enter the park from the South entrance... you go through a tunnel... and this is your first view of the mightly Yosemite. Absolutely stunning. I only wish they make it easier for people to pull over and soak the view in. They do have a vista point with some parking, but on weekends, this place gets very crowded and a bit chaotic.
PLEASE NOTE: Snow chains may be required for your vehicle's tires anytime between November through April. Wawona is one of
