Shoreline Amphitheater

Description

This 60-acre, 25,000-seat outdoor amphitheater, 10 miles north of San Jose, stages concerts by the hottest names in popular music. Owned by the City of Mountain View and legendary Bill Graham Productions, the pie-shaped amphitheater consists of 6,500 fixed seats close to the stage and an expansive lawn on a sloped hillside for remaining concertgoers. The view is great and the atmosphere is both laid-back and party-like. You are bound to have a terrific time. Remember to bring a blanket and extra clothing. Tickets are available at the box office or through Ticketmaster. Call for prices and show times. Credit card acceptance varies by show.

The sound engineering Sucked
By ,
Very poor sound engineering for the Buffet Concert. It was overly loud and indistinct --like there was a deaf kid at the board. The overridine buzz and static on the right side just made it worse. Next time I want to hear Jimmy I will go to Vegas-- It may be cheaper too! Get real folks.

Shoreline Amphitheater needs to be updated

There's only 1 screen in the front for reserved seat holders. So, unless you have a seat in 101, 102 and 103 close up rows, you don't get to see much. There are 2 SMALL screens by the front rows. What's up with that? Don't you think the people on the front rows already have a pretty good view? Also, THERE WAS A BROKEN SPEAKER for the Neil Young bridge school benefit concert. I don't know if this speaker is always a problem, but it sure was on Saturday, Oct 24th. To keep it from creating static, the volume was turned down and we couldn't hear the stage performers when they chatted with the audience. We were in "nosebleed" 200 section seats. There's plenty of room to put up 2 more large screens on the walls besides the front screen, for people in "no view" sections like ours. The people on the lawn got a better view than we did because of the 2 large screens there and paid MUCH LESS. We did like the accessibility to the concessions and bathrooms, but your beer prices are outrageous!! We did like the bar atmosphere, though, because we got a much better view there. I was very disappointed when I bought our tickets because I called early right around 10 AM and could not get through. By the time I did, it was 10:20 AM and we got such poor seats. I will never go there again unless I can get seats in 102 section in the first few rows. Nan
