Emma Prusch Farm Park

Description

This urban farm covers an impressive 47 acres. It has school tours, orchards, a barnyard, picnic areas and places to fly kites. It is a great place to bring the kids, especially if they like animals; there are zillions of breeds of rabbits, chickens, geese and ducks for them to befriend. The property was originally given to the city of San Jose with the intent that it be used as an agricultural learning center, and in that it succeeds admirably. Admission is free.

Best Farm Place Everr!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/10
I camee here with my whole family and the little kids too.Its a perfect place for family to go to for a picnic or go and check some farm animals.Theres also a playground for the kids and benches.Theres a animal small era for the chickens, roasters, ducks, swans and even rabbits,But some are caged in and others are running around freely, they have something you can feed them. And there is a barn filled with really big cows and pigs as well as their babies.Even a hog to.Also outside by it in the fence theres Sheeps,Cows,Goats,Turkeys and even a Peacok and even the underground squrriels too.I recomand this park to anyone, you can even rent a place for a Birthday Party or Go out with Family, basically anything you wantt. So you should go and check it out yourself.

Aggressive ducks...
By Rika, 5/8/08
My 18 mos old daughter and I went to this park this morning. There were many visitors at the park. As we entered the small animal animal area a duck came up to me and bit my leg!!! And it almost happened again after 15 mins later. I'll never take my daughter there again.

Can't ever forget it!
By Margarita Quinonez, 1/18/08
It has been a long time since I've gone to the farm but i still remember it. It was a park that my family and I used to go to all the time. Its animals were cute and amazing. I learned so much about animals and it influenced me to major as Pre-Vet in college. When I have children I will always take them there.

It was a good field trip but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/15/07
My special ed students enjoyed the farm. It was great to experience the ..freedom..of walking around and seeing the animals. Unfortunately, and surprising was watching the piglets....some people behind the farm area stalls were doing something with the piglets..moving them, etc. Anyway..one man would 'smack' them on the head to move. Smack..smack..smack! Why...I dont know. I later called to complain. This was not a positive thing for my students to observe. I will have a difficult time explaining this one. I would think twice about visiting it again. Perhaps it really needs closer monitoring.

City Oasis
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/04
This place is an oasis of calm among a bustling city. Great place to unwind, exercise, take the kids to experience animals, have a picnic and so much more. It is really a special place and a great value to the community. Every city should have a park like this.
