Savannah Chanelle Vineyards
Nestled in the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains just outside of Saratoga, this winery, originally established in 1892, offers a spectacular view of the entire South Bay. It is known for a variety of wines, all of which are available in the tasting room/gift shop. Enjoy the Cabernet Franc, Carignane, Zinfandel and Chardonnay in the gorgeous Mediterranean-style chateau, which is also available for meetings, barbecues, picnics and elegant weddings. The interior setting for this party and meeting facility is 1920s-style and quite posh. The tasting room was built of redwood in 1912.
I would have loved to have given this place a 0 if it was an option.
I visited this winery a year ago and loved the wine and the service I received. However, I called today to get some information about a private party and spoke to a VERY rude individual named David. I asked for Dave at the begining of the phone call (which was the name I was given by another one of the other employees) and the person on the phone acted as if I had called the wrong number. I was about to tell him I had the wrong number and hang up when he asked me if the name was Dave. I told him that's what I was given and he said actually that his name was David but sometimes they called him Dave and that's what he goes by.
I then proceeded to ask him about my small private party and he was incredibly short with me to the point of being mean and told me there was nothing they could do for me.
I was never rude to him or angry because I was unable to have my party there, I was shocked that he spoke to me that way.
I will make sure on my vacations to California to not go back to this winery and to tell other people that they should choose somewhere else if they want a good experience.
I can't believe in this economy people would act a certain way to make others not want to do business with them.
