Former Shoe Salesman
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/16/04
A few years ago, I was a shoe salesman at a Meier & Frank in Orem, Utah. I had already become a pleased wearer and seller of Johnston & Murphy's shoes for sometime before I had given the company a call. I was interested in learning more about their shoes, company, etc. This phone call was made on a friday afternoon. I was directed to an information department line which was closed. I then left my name, location, and my interests in a voicemail. The following wednesday, one of their regional sales managers was flown in from Los Angeles. When he arrived, he knew my name and was fully prepared with information and for discussion on their products. Since then, I have developed a slightly obsessive interest in their shoes. I now own several of their most expensive shoes, yet feel that their quality is apperent in every shoe. One of these is of their Presidents Collection, selling for $1,000 a pair. I would challenge any man to litterally feel the quality of the leathers and contruction of their shoes side by side with any other maker. He would far majorilly find that Johnston & Murphy shoes are softer, stronger, and more comfortable. I personally will only wear J&M's for the rest of my life.
