This neighborhood watering hole has been around since the 1930s but since the San Jose Arena was built right down the street, its business has seriously increased and it could not have happened to a nicer place. The decor is reminiscent of a 1930s sports bar, which it is and the service is friendly whether it is your first visit or your fiftieth. This is 'the place' to down a few brews before a Sharks game or a concert at the arena. It is also right across the street from the train station. The drinks are cheap and the eats are as well.
The owners are anything but rude. They are very good people, friendly and very generous. They get some low life people because of the location, but they monitor them very well. There are numerous special events, and many of them free. A great place to go if you are going to the arena or just want to go to the oldest bar in San Jose. The pozole on Sunday is absolutely fabulous!! It is home cooked and only 3 bucks a bowl. This place has character and plenty of characters!!!
The owners are fairly rude and the clientele is pretty low brow. Not a very clean place either and the patio is always a mess. I would not recommend. Think I might of saw a cockroach in there when I was there
Patty's is a great watering hole for any occasion. Close to the HP Pavillion and across the street from the Train Station it draws a very diverse crowd. Kenny owns and operates the bar with a love of people. Always putting on special events. Friday night he has an six foot sub sandwhich for his Happy Hour customers. Sunday's are great for Pozolle. Lots of TV to watch your sporting events. It is an old time bar with timeless personality and neighborhood service
