One of the all time classic restaurants in San Jose, OJ's has been around since 1956. Huge, that is, HUGE portions of food are served here. The waiters are never far and the bartenders are truly one of a kind. It is the only restaurant in the area that is open until 1:30a. The ambience is loud and the decor is nothing spectacular, but nevertheless, it is a great place to dine with the family or to gorge away a hangover on a Sunday afternoon. Go for the Veal Scallopine or an enormous steak sandwich.
The food and service is excellent! Waiting patiently for opening day.
Good for everyone. Service is fast and friendly. Never been disappointed. Good portions large enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day.
Never had to wait longer than 30 min. when the place was full. The wait is worth it.

okay, first off I completely love all the Joe's restaurants in the bay area. The only thing I didn't quite like about this one, is that the recipe for the spaghetti sauce is different from the one in Westlake. It's still good, but not quite the same.
On that note, Original Joe's garlic bread is hands down the best that I have ever tasted. It's nice to see the waiters and other staff dressed so nicely, and the place has this old charm to it that always keeps me coming back.
Joe's has been around since I was a kid. I have come here and so have many of my friends. It is a great restaurant with LOTS of Italian flair. The waiters are great and it has a nice bar. All of the staff are older Italian men who take their job seriously ... but not too seriously.
They make it fun. The original joe's special is fantastic. Great steak too.
I have been eating at Original Joes since I was a kid, which is many years now. The food has consistently been excellent! And while I no longer live in San Jose, this is always part of a trip plan when I return. In fact, when my wife and I lived in India we looked forward to our visit to Original Joes.
I have never been let down, even after a 40 hour trip from India!
Although the restaurant was touted as a great place, celebrating 50 years in business, the food was heavy and greasy and overall disapointing. The decor is dated, but the staff is pleasant and attentive. If you are a "foodie" don't not partake.
