Birk's Restaurant, Santa Clara

I went there on a Sunday because it's quieter and more intimate setting. We were sat immediately our waiter greeted promptly. They have an excellent wine list to pair with the steaks we had. My wife had the filet and I had the ribeye both were cooked perfect. My wife said it was the best steak she ever had. Definitely going back. Service was great too.

I have been at Birk's before without a reservation and waited over 30 min. for a table, so I make a reservation on line using open table, I even got a call to confirm my reservation, We arrived on time and still have to wait 30 min. for our table. it makes no sense to even go there ever again, Birk's does not take their business serious, you are subject to what you can get, they are located in a prime location on a business area in Santa Clara not much to choose so they take advantage of that, Go to Santana Row 15 min from there many places to choose.

I arived at Birks without a reservation, I was told that I will have to leave at 7:pm or I can go somewhere else, I have never been in a place where I have to timed to eat my meal or drink my wine, This restaurant only cares about the turn of business not about taken care of the customers. will not recomend to any of my friends. find a more friendly place to host your customers/friends/family.

My husband and I went there to celebrate our 22 anniversary and wanted to go to somewhere local with nice ambiance. We had reservations for 6 and we got sitted right when we walked into the door. Ordered the Prime Rib medium rare. It came out looking like that but as I ate it and got closer to the middle it was basically raw. Decided not to send it back due to the chances of it getting over cooked. My spouse order the filet medium and prawns. The filet was over cooked (tiniest of pink)and burnt on the outside. For the money and the dinner it is not worth it.

I have been working in Santa Clara for the last 2 1/2 years and have had numerous occasions to dine for both lunch and dinner at Birk's. All of my experiences have been excellent! The one negative which seems to be a common theme among people who have reviewed the restaurant is the noise level. The food, while not cheap, has been spot-on with very generous portions (I usually take some home). The service has been consistently very good, quite helpful and attentive.

I am in Santa Clara for a business trip. Not too many restaurants to choose from so I checked Tripadvisor. I really wqanted steak and this place looked like it fit the bill. I was leery because of the poor reviews and shocked after completing a wonderful meal. I'm lucky enough to travel quite a bit and dine in some very nice restaurants. This one rates very high and I highly recommend it (so much so that this is the first review I have ever posted online). I had the fried artichoke appetizer, filet mignon and sauted mushrooms. The steaks come with creaed spinach and mashed potatoes. The food was so good and plentiful. I was full half way thru and felt terrible that I had to leave the rest behind. One mistep was the cheesecake dessert. Mediocre. Otherwise a great experience. Atmosphere is nice enough, but it is rather loud. Not the place for a romantic soiree.

The food at Birks is decent, but not worth the money you will spend there. The service at Birks is the worst I have ever experienced. The waiter was slow, unattentive and paid no attention to detail. The management was unprofessional and rude. I highly encourage anyone who is considering Birks in Santa Clara for a meal to seriously reconsider. You will be highly disappointed.

My family had dinner (6 adults) at this restaurant on a Monday before a Santa Clara University basektball game. The service was superb. The food was excellent. The pasta paella was great. I had a filet that was cooked to perfection. The portions are good sized and the dessert sampler was to die for. My only complaint is that the restaurant is a little noisey. If you want a quiet place, this isn't it. We will definitely be returning!

Food is below average and price is steep for quality you get. If there were other choices within walking distance, I wouldn't go here. I wouldn't pay my own money to eat here either. Service is not great either.
