The park balances environmental wonders with practical recreation such as the State Vehicular Recreation Center at Ocotillo Wells. Popular in spring for its desert wildflowers, which burst into bloom suddenly, the park provides a special number for wildflower fans. A good vehicle, plenty of water, good shoes and common sense are essentials.
