Great San Diego Secret
I don't think even a lot of San Diego locals know that several of the old Victorian homes were moved to this charming little park as downtown grew. Two of these historical landmark homes are now a B&B. Since my wife loves this style of house I surprised her with a trip there.
The room we were in was the converted living room so there was lots of room. The whirlpool tub was huge and inviting. The room felt more like a suite due to its size. Wonderful atmosphere. You'll spend awhile just examining your room, looking at the woodwork, antique fixtures etc.
The breakfast wasn't really my cup of tea. I haven't done a lot of B&Bs but this is the first I've been to where breakfast was a sit down meal with all of my fellow guests. Everyone was nice, but spending an hour with strangers making small talk with strangers wasn't what I'd planned the weekend for.
Leave time for a walk around the park. The other buildings are interesting as well. It was like visiting a cul de sac in 1890.
It's been a couple of years ago, so this info may be dated. However, when I was this site had no reviews at all, I figured you'd enjoy a little dated info rather than none at all!
Check it out. At least when we went this was a charming place.
