Description

While touring the mountainous eastern regions of San Diego County, be sure to stop off at this local icon of flavor and bring home an armful of fresh, delicious bread. The "staff of life" here is just moments out of the oven and locals travel the 40 miles from downtown just to get it while it's hot. Varieties range from the tame to the torrid (try the spicy jalapeno). This bakery has stood on this spot for nearly 40 years and despite its continuing expansion, the spot is always crowded, especially on weekends.

We travel regularly from Orange County just to get their wonderful breads, and their to-die-for brownies and pastrIes. YUM!

newly remodeled and exciting

What a difference a few years makes. I have been going to Dudley's since the 70's and always loved their breads and pastries but there has been a major change lately. It's great!!! A new gift shop and a new lay out has made quite a difference. And the breads are simply perfect, but the wait in line is always an issue so bring the paper to read while waiting. they also have some new items that I tried and then went back in line to get more of them. What a treat!

great bread - good value a perfect spot to stop have a cup of coffee and some hot from the oven specialty also they can ship their products nationwide and have an interesting web site
