Oh what a night - late December back in Hemingway's...

Remote from the bustle of downtown San Diego, this little establishment is a cool escape. Ceiling fans, cigars, and other decor give the feel of a 1950's Havana night. Don't miss the potent Belgian beer.
We found ourselves in San Diego on short notice visiting a terminally-ill relative. With our focus on that we had no New Year's eve plans, so, after an outside dinner at Casa di Bandini, my girlfriend and I spent New Year's eve (2001) at Hemingway's in the Old Town, and it was one of the best New Year's we ever had. Simple, yet elegant, and absolutely stress-free...just what we needed at the time. If/when I find myself back in San Diego, I will be sure to make Hemingway's a [long] stop in my visit to the Old Town.
