Leather chairs for lounging and an outdoor patio make this a luxurious place to spend a few hours. The clientele is mature and sophisticated and they know their cigars as well as their wine. Wine is sold by the bottle, but most is sold by the reasonably-priced glass. There is a walk-in humidor from where you can pick your cigars and an outdoor table where you can sip your wine and puff away.

Over 10 years kickin' back

Extremely laid back establishment with an outstanding humidor and wine list. I stopped there for years as I stayed in Old Town on business. Great for people watching, puffing, and sipping a great glass of wine.

Oh what a night - late December back in Hemingway's...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/05
Remote from the bustle of downtown San Diego, this little establishment is a cool escape. Ceiling fans, cigars, and other decor give the feel of a 1950's Havana night. Don't miss the potent Belgian beer. We found ourselves in San Diego on short notice visiting a terminally-ill relative. With our focus on that we had no New Year's eve plans, so, after an outside dinner at Casa di Bandini, my girlfriend and I spent New Year's eve (2001) at Hemingway's in the Old Town, and it was one of the best New Year's we ever had. Simple, yet elegant, and absolutely stress-free...just what we needed at the time. If/when I find myself back in San Diego, I will be sure to make Hemingway's a [long] stop in my visit to the Old Town.
