Located in what some refer to as Mission Hills and others as Midtown, this well-established coffeehouse offers limited indoor seating, sidewalk seating or upstairs view seating. The bistro-like setting is almost always crowded inside. Many locals slip in here not only for the coffee and tea, but are also known to indulge in exotic flavors of creamy gelato. Coffees range from house to specialty blends. Delectable desserts are also available.

Gelato Vero keeps you regular!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/05
Sometimes, one steps into a cafe and feels a little out of place; maybe the prices are too pricey, the people a little to hip to serve just anyone. Gelato Vero (in Mission Hills), on the other hand, is consistantly friendly and inviting. One of the workers will even juggle a certain unmentioned food for you if he's feeling up for it. The other thing that is alluring is the live entertainment that is available pretty regularly; it is pretty frequently free and almost always on the interesting and razor-sharp cutting edge. As a regular, I would recommend becoming one yourself, ESPECIALLY for the authentic Italian gelato in over 10 different flavors.

best gelato
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/04
The outdoor seats are a great place to enjoy the gelato (I recommend the Giandua, the chocolate hazelnut and espresso), along with a nice cup of coffee. Inside is a bit cramped, but cozy, with artsy photos and paintings on the wall. They also have a roomy upstairs seating area too. The gelato is rich and creamy, no artificial flavors, ever! nice dessert after having spicy thai food next door at Saffron.
