Nautical Bean Coffee
Evenings along the coast come alive with the cappuccino and live entertainment served here. The entire establishment is hosted outdoors, along the Oceanside Harbor. Order your favorite coffee blend at the window, then select a seat under a large umbrella or along the docks, where live entertainment is offered nightly. Adventurous guests may want to try the notable, 'Nightwatch' coffee blend, a specialty of this local spot. Add to your coffee with bagels, cookies, cake or pie. Gelato and sorbet are big hits during the summertime.
Our cousin took us here when we went to visit her and we had to go back every morning and every evening after dinner! The coffee was great as well as the employees were very polite and helpful. The people that sat around enjoying their coffee were very sweet and polite and had no problem with talking to us. If you every get a chance to go here, you will NOT be disappointed.
Thanks for the great coffee and the wonderful atmosphere

Hi John and Gang,
We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at the harbor with a cup of your great coffee and great entertainment. We always look forward to visiting you when we come to Oceanside to visit the kids. It's one of our high points of our trip.

I have been coming to the bean for about 3 years now. Unlike the other reviewer, I have never experienced anything but courteous service and great coffee. Sometimes there's a wait, as it is a high-traffic location and when the bands get going there's usually a line.
As far as the coffee goes, you'll find none better. The owner goes to coffee plantations and participates in the actual labor of picking beans, as to further his knowledge of the product he sells.
If you like that weak flavorless coffee that is starbucks, chances are this java, which is not mass-produced by machines that dole out an exacting weight of grind may be a bit to flavorful and delicious for your tastes. Also, if you like the ambience of a strip mall then the stunning view of Oceanside Harbor and it's wonderful sunsets might put you off.
Never again...! My family and I meet in Oceanside every year for 4th of July. We've returned to Nautical Bean for the last 3 years, and every year, I've been disappointed - MOSTLY in their service. RUDE RUDE RUDE - they typically have young girls working there - can you say SNOTTY beach brats? All I wanted was a capaccino in a larger cup instead of the 6oz. cup they sell for a STIFF price. OK, so not hard - just add some extra foam - charge me more if you want...the girl refused saying she can't possibly make that much foam - Ok, so I changed my order to a nonfat double latte, light on the milk, heavy on the foam...for $4.50, I would expect at minimum starbux quality - what a terrible after taste! I ordered my mom a small decaf vanilla latte - with 1/2 the sweetner...apparently this was too technical for the 2 girls as they looked at me like I was from Mars. They should try writing the drink order on the cup if it's too hard...I mean they can't OK, so then my niece goes to place her order - the girl tells her she can't take her order b/c she's in the wrong line - they have 2 lines, one for coffee only, and one for espresso drinks...apparently they need a better system. The coffee line had NO ONE in it, while the espresso line had 6 people. The 2 girls didn't seem to be working together to get the people in and out quickly. My niece then orders NY cheesecake w/ her drink to which they respond they have no more - so she orders something else, then realizes hm...there are 3 slices of cheesecake in the display, tells the girl - to which she responds 'oh' and doesn't bother to switch the cakes for her.....bottom line...stiff prices, not so great coffee, BAD BAD service...my family and I will stick to starbucks next year!
The Nautical Bean is right on the water in Oceanside Harbor. An overlooked sleepy little chunk of coolness in North County. If you feel like socializing, the regulars are always there. If you need to sneak off on your own- the wireless access point is free and nobody will bug you. Check the Nightwatch coffee- STRONG!! Cool scene and I hear they have jazz in the evenings!
