Matilda's Australian Rstrnt, Sandy

The food here was bland and overpriced. The chicken was dry and overcooked, the rice pilaf was undercooked and tasted like it came from a box. The potatoes weren't great and the steak was very so-so. We won't be going back. If you want better Australian food try Outback or Wallaby's.

I was very disappointed. the food was frozen, then steamed and served. it was good for tv dinner quaility. I expected more like OUTBACK RESTAURANT, but got Denney's.

Like several other reviews have stated the service was quite bad. The restaurant was not busy, but we had to wait longer then would be expected to place our order. Once we received our order (which was partially incorrect because the waitress didn’t write any of it down) we were left alone until we were almost finished eating. Half of us had a movie to go to and we never saw our waitress again. I had to go to the host and ask him to locate our waitress because we had to go. It still took 10 to fifteen minutes before she showed up. Those of us going to the movie had to leave before she ever showed up. Overall the food was okay, but the service was not. If you are in any kind of hurry try somewhere else and even if you are not, don’t expect good service.

Wow, where did they get those Bangers and Mash (sausages and mashed potato) from? What a nice restraunt. No wonder everyone wants to go to Australia. See if you can figure out what a Dunny is. (restroom LOL). Too funny. Great Job, I'll be back.

The atmosphere needs a touch to make it cozier. Generally good food. I enjoyed the dinner salad--nice variety and sesame dressing excellent! Mashed potatoes were rather bland, but creamy. Sausage good. Fries were tender! Service was very spotty. Our server kept leaving and didn't return until the end(was she on break?) Dessert yummy especially since it was free with a coupon!

Having been to Australia a few times, everything about the place is authentic! Well done!! The food is exceptional and great value - The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable - The service is awesome! (Thanks Peter!) Oh, and... the advertising --- GREAT radio commercial!! Fair Dinkum!

Ive been to this resturant many times as well as the Deli and I have to say that I have never had a bad meal or was I disatisfied with the service or staff. If you really want a treat go to this resturant (they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner). Stand up job and I will be going back more often.

Party of 7... Seated right away... Waiter was proficient and helpful with selections.... That's when everything went South.... Kitchen apparently backed up... took over 45 minutes to receive the food. Despite waiter's aplogies for delay, my glass remained unfilled. When food arrived, all thought their selections (everything from Salmon Salad to chicken) was bland and dry. We gave it a try but we already knew if you want good food stay away from any restraunt at Jordan Commons.....

I thought the service was great and the food tasted wonderful! I would like to go back sometime! I went there with a group of friends and the service was fast, the food was great, and the atmosphere was wholesome.

A lot of thought went into this menu and the food was great. Each item reflects what Aussies really like to eat. The wine list was good too. I didn't like the decor. It was too trendy. I was scared to take the kids inside when I first saw it. But the service was good and I loved the food that we ordered. I went there for the lamb, but it was too pricey at over $20, but my burger with pineapple and beetroot was $7.50. The kids loved the banger and mash. The lamington looked good but the sponge was a bit too hard. I wish I'd orded the Pavlova. I also want to try the meat pies.
