Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival
A yearly favorite, this festival is Indio's proud celebration of the date and the Arabian lifestyle. There are more than 7,000 exhibits of dates and produce, fine art, photography, home arts, floriculture, gems, minerals, real livestock, camels and even satellite wagering. There are monster truck races, a carnival of thrilling rides, games, and food galore. There are ostrich races daily from 1p-3p. In addition, there is an Arabian Nights Fantasy show.
This is a very fun fair I love all the rides in the "teen" area and its really fun to go spen a day there we go every year I think it would be better if The Jonas Brothers performed there or some celeb but other then that its very fun :)

The National Date Festival is a wonderful treat for the population of Coachella Valley. From the parade on Presidents Day to the Camel Rides, entertainment, food food food, hall of vendors and their new gagets to the rides (geared for the younger crowd). It is a welcome event we look forward to attending each year. Food can be a little pricey but you just can't resist those home made cinnamon rolls (to die for). It is an annual event everyone should travel just a little bit to enjoy.
I go every year. It has lots of vendors and lots of neat displays. You can ride a camel and watch ostrich racing and camel racing, puppet shows and the silly musical they put on every night. They also have a carnival with rides and games. An all around great day.

It was very very small. I did not feel that it was worth either time or money. Only one building of vendors (and I went - ready to buy), small food selection, rides more geared toward children. There was no discernable gardening exhibit, very small student presentation, few to none daytime entertainment choices. Just wish there were more to do - - we "did" it in under two hours. People were very nice!
