Moorten Botanical Garden, Palm Springs

I went down to Palm Springs for a couple of days in May, 2012. When i got to my hotel room the first day it was to late to go do much but to early for not doing/seeing something. I was rooming near the Moorten Botonical Garden , so I figure it would be something to do . The garden is very cool. Actually the garden was nice to visit, not cool as the weather outside was very warm, hot to me. The cactii are set in groups from one desert grouped together and a different cactii from a different desert in another display. It was very worth the $4 fee to visit. I even bought a couple cactii to take home.

i liked this place...i got a lot of cool pictures out of it...they charge a small fee of 3 dollars but im pretty sure if u have children, it would be worth it...they have so many different types of cactus its crazy... I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THAT THAT MANY EXISTED...it was really nice and the people that own it are really great....i definately recommend that you take 15-20 min out your day and go see some amazing natual stuff

I practically grew up in this garden, after all the owners are my grandparents. The owners are very nice and helpful! I do believe it' a great place to go when visiting Palm Springs!

Great collection of specimens in a lovely setting. Easy to find location away from the tourist crowds! I visit every year. I was extremely disappointed when I went to Moorten's Botanical Garden, as I have an extreme passion for horticulture and botany. The owner has tried to maintain the sense of a natural environment, but instead created the grounds to simply appear in disarray. It seems that they planted a few random items over the years without structure or thought and just left them to look like a gardner's nightmare. The owner was very infomative but the overall perception is that it not a place worthy of a visit. I will stick to the Living Desert
