Great course, unsure of the condos
By ,
First of all, the dude who thinks the course is easy and apparent he gets on every par five with a driver hybrid, youre an idiot. Mission Lakes hosted the second round of CIF for the boys highschool golf and not one kid shot even or below and im included. Ive played every course in the desert besides a few in La Quinta and ive lived here my entire life and i cant break par at Mission Lakes. Its much more difficult then the popular courses like desert willow, silverrock, and Indian Springs out in La quinta. I dont know about the homes located at Mission Lakes, but the last thing you could call the golf course is "easy" its in great shape in the summer and they keep the greens like glass. If you want a fun challenge, then come out. if you want an easy desert course then beware.

Need Lots of Improvements
By ,
Boy, the area is a real gem alright. Condos loaded with bugs walking in from the overwatering. Drugs take place, hookers in one blg." working", large dogs allowed, patios are cluttered, a lunitic walking around all hours yelling, loud family fights go on at night, low income because you cant rent to anyone else because of the area, and if your in the Management or Board you have the best looking(?) landscape and patios and windows that are not allowed to others. Curb side appearance is embarrassing. It needs tender care as you drive around the parking lot. Too bare. Come on and jazz it up for us. If the visitors only new the real deal. They get the goods and we get the crap. Club house is a wanna be. Snobs. Dress code? Why? Come on,this is not Indian Wells, its DHS. Crime rate is what? Just hope those coming out for a visit dont have to witness the real activity. Its not what they need to see or hear.

Not the place to play or stay
We stayed at the mission lakes cc rooms available for rent. For the decor, formica covered cheap furniture, on the wall two prints in a metal $10 frame. A 17 inch obsolete tv from the seventies stuck to the ceiling with a remote that didnt work the TV. The buttons would lit up on the remote but no action on the tv even from three feet away. . Only local channels if you want to walk over and flip the channels. No internet access though they gave us a guest log in password. The management didnt know how to reboot the internet modem. And worse of all. big crawly brown bugs. Yeah. you know which ones. One had crawled into my pants whle in the bathroom. The other I saw was on the trash basket. Jeepers creepers. Two days later and I still cant shake off the creepy feeling. They also have a restaurant and bar... I did not have the courage to eat there. For half the price, Motel six offers cleaner place with better amenities. The local resident golfing twosome we ended up playing with dissappeared on one hole into one of the houses on the fairway for bloody marys. We waited for them but the ranger came to tell us to keep moving. While we were putting out and the ranger was nxt to the green watching. The two some came back out on the course and hit balls on the green. Almost hit my partner and didnt yell fore. The golfer wasnt a rookie as he has been playing golf there atleast 15 years. The ranger seemed appalled. but when I told the ranger he should get them off the course.... He told us to just keep moving instead as he cant do anything about the regular members. For a course, it is well watered. The course is simple with large greens, and no bunkers or hazards. At 116 slope it is over rated. There is no rough. What they have is best described as a first cut and always leaves one with a perfect lie. Probably a great treat for the average Joe that isnt capable of breaking 90. With 5 par 5s, (Driver, Fairway wood and a chipper if you arent on) 5 par threes 200 yds and up... Faiway or hybrid...a sixth par three that is a pitching wedge or a 9 iron, and short par fours. A driver and a short iron or wedge .One hole #18 that offers any resistance and requires a mid iron to the green. Otherwise dont bother carrying anything longer than a 8 iron. Besides hitting a wood off of the tee box... its a pitch and putt course. There is no range to practice or warm up. Warm up is provided by hitting into a 8x10 net. Though they do offer a practice green and a small bunkered chipping area. Only golf tract in coachella valley that has two houses for sale on every street. People just cant seem to get away from this gem fast enough.

I came I saw I Bought!!!

This is indeed a hidden gem. My wife and I visited MLCC because we were told that "it was the most well kept secret in Palm Springs" We were not disappointed. The golging is great. The homes are georgeous with awesome views. We were sold lock stock & barrel. Shirley Mclaughlin the Real Estate expert for the area is a real jewel of a person and did a wonderful job of helping us get our house.

MY PARADISE
By ,
I'm currently a recent full time resident from Orange County, CA (although I've owned a home here since 1994) and I love living in Mission Lakes. I can tell you from experience that the golf course is always kept in beautiful playing condition and that the newly remodeled kitchen and club house is enjoyed by all. The friendly staff and the care that is taken in presenting and the preparation that the chef provides is lovely experience to be cherished. I believe that being involved in MLCC activities, attending board meetings and participating - will provide more exposure to those that are not familar with our paradise. I will agree that we need more "Security" ... hopefully we can get back to full time monitoring. I

Before it gets too crowded
By ,
Mission Lakes CC is a true gem of the desert. The 18 hole layout brings out all the clubs in your bag. From the on-set of your round to the end YOU WILL BE TESTED. This isn't the usual desert course. Club golf, target golf, mountain golf, and desert golf are to be enjoyed. I think the only thing missing is the "aye" from Scotland. Maybe we should send letters to the pro to put big 'ole rocks in the bunker. Aye! I've never understood a par 3 for a second hole let alone a par 3 with water on it :( No breaks on the course until #14, which is probably the only break on the course #15 after this hole is probably the longest par 3 you will play anywhere 240+ from the back. #16 is a 600 yd par 5. Signature holes in my opinion start on #1 and don't end until you get to #14. Word to the wise... Unless you live here in the desert or know friend here the weeks around Thanksgiving and the end of spring are the most turbulent times for play. It's a gamble to make plans to play if your coming in to experience Mission Lakes for golf. Subsequently towards the east side of desert gets all the wind blown dust etc . etc. The rates for outside play are inexpensive with Master's-esque greens. If you decide to wanna be a member this club is an excellent deal. There isn't the posh stuff that make those other cc's those cc's but hey, if dont mind not having those lotions, shampoo's, and towels it won't be a problem for you. As the heading says "Before it gets too crowded." The area is being developed. Otherwise it still would of been called a Hidden Gem. So get in on it before present is the now.

Great Deal and Nice Place
By ,
Nice community, great golf course and very reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back. The shotgun start for $45 is awesome. Had very little or no wind that day.

horrible weekend!!
By ,
I was out there the weekend of june 14th and they were working on the spa and child's pool. Jackhammering out the exsiting cement and making a huge mess and not to mention the noise was horrific!!! I am a homeowner in Mission Lakes and I came down from San Diego with my sisters thinking it was going to be a very peaceful weekend by the pool and it was'nt, due to someone digging for oil!!! I would of NEVER thought that they would do this on the weekend when during the week there is NOBODY out by the pool! This should of been a week day project!! Thanks, Home owner!

Best mountain views...better than Palm Springs
By ,
This is a very quiet golf community, with most places owned year round. Some rentals are available. This is the only golf club community in Desert Hot Springs that has houses, not manufactured homes. Houses are California mission style stucco. Views from the dining room look south to Mt. San Jacinto which towers over Palm Springs. View to the West is San Gorgonio peak. Both mountains over 10,000 feet rising from the desert. Quiet community, and yet only qbout 20 minutes to downtown Palm Springs. Nice hot pools, and a swimming pool. DHS is not a ritzy community but there are gems like other spa hotels, good little Mexican restaurants, and the hideout of Al Capone called Two Bunch Palms. I like walking in the early morning and hearing the quail. Views from the golf course are breathtaking.

Enjoy life the way it used to be
By ,
This resort is tucked away in the foothills of Desert Hot Springs, CA. It has breathtaking views of the entire valley and the surrounding mountains. The 8 room motel, restaurant and golf course, nice exercise room make this the perfect getaway destination for anyone. Rates hard to beat. Check-in the motel, play golf, swim, have dinner all without having to get into the car. Any trip to the Palm Springs area deserves a stop at this resort in order to enjoy life as it used to be. Non hectic. Recommended to everyone.
