MY PARADISE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/22/09
I'm currently a recent full time resident from Orange County, CA (although I've owned a home here since 1994) and I love living in Mission Lakes. I can tell you from experience that the golf course is always kept in beautiful playing condition and that the newly remodeled kitchen and club house is enjoyed by all. The friendly staff and the care that is taken in presenting and the preparation that the chef provides is lovely experience to be cherished. I believe that being involved in MLCC activities, attending board meetings and participating - will provide more exposure to those that are not familar with our paradise. I will agree that we need more "Security" ... hopefully we can get back to full time monitoring. I

Before it gets too crowded
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/08
Mission Lakes CC is a true gem of the desert. The 18 hole layout brings out all the clubs in your bag. From the on-set of your round to the end YOU WILL BE TESTED. This isn't the usual desert course. Club golf, target golf, mountain golf, and desert golf are to be enjoyed. I think the only thing missing is the "aye" from Scotland. Maybe we should send letters to the pro to put big 'ole rocks in the bunker. Aye! I've never understood a par 3 for a second hole let alone a par 3 with water on it :( No breaks on the course until #14, which is probably the only break on the course #15 after this hole is probably the longest par 3 you will play anywhere 240+ from the back. #16 is a 600 yd par 5. Signature holes in my opinion start on #1 and don't end until you get to #14. Word to the wise... Unless you live here in the desert or know friend here the weeks around Thanksgiving and the end of spring are the most turbulent times for play. It's a gamble to make plans to play if your coming in to experience Mission Lakes for golf. Subsequently towards the east side of desert gets all the wind blown dust etc . etc. The rates for outside play are inexpensive with Master's-esque greens. If you decide to wanna be a member this club is an excellent deal. There isn't the posh stuff that make those other cc's those cc's but hey, if dont mind not having those lotions, shampoo's, and towels it won't be a problem for you. As the heading says "Before it gets too crowded." The area is being developed. Otherwise it still would of been called a Hidden Gem. So get in on it before present is the now.

Great Deal and Nice Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/08
Nice community, great golf course and very reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back. The shotgun start for $45 is awesome. Had very little or no wind that day.

horrible weekend!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/07
I was out there the weekend of june 14th and they were working on the spa and child's pool. Jackhammering out the exsiting cement and making a huge mess and not to mention the noise was horrific!!! I am a homeowner in Mission Lakes and I came down from San Diego with my sisters thinking it was going to be a very peaceful weekend by the pool and it was'nt, due to someone digging for oil!!! I would of NEVER thought that they would do this on the weekend when during the week there is NOBODY out by the pool! This should of been a week day project!! Thanks, Home owner!

Best mountain views...better than Palm Springs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/06
This is a very quiet golf community, with most places owned year round. Some rentals are available. This is the only golf club community in Desert Hot Springs that has houses, not manufactured homes. Houses are California mission style stucco. Views from the dining room look south to Mt. San Jacinto which towers over Palm Springs. View to the West is San Gorgonio peak. Both mountains over 10,000 feet rising from the desert. Quiet community, and yet only qbout 20 minutes to downtown Palm Springs. Nice hot pools, and a swimming pool. DHS is not a ritzy community but there are gems like other spa hotels, good little Mexican restaurants, and the hideout of Al Capone called Two Bunch Palms. I like walking in the early morning and hearing the quail. Views from the golf course are breathtaking.

Enjoy life the way it used to be
By joel, 09/21/05
This resort is tucked away in the foothills of Desert Hot Springs, CA. It has breathtaking views of the entire valley and the surrounding mountains. The 8 room motel, restaurant and golf course, nice exercise room make this the perfect getaway destination for anyone. Rates hard to beat. Check-in the motel, play golf, swim, have dinner all without having to get into the car. Any trip to the Palm Springs area deserves a stop at this resort in order to enjoy life as it used to be. Non hectic. Recommended to everyone.

Country Club for the unpretentious
By ddominique, 06/06/05
Mission Lakes is a low-rent country club situated only a few miles away from a terribly depressed area of the desert. Desert Hot Springs is the most "affordable" real estate of all the desert cities, and the surrounding neighborhood/element has a lot to do with it. That being said, if you want to rent a house for the weekend, or go for a fairly inexpensive round of golf, you will have fun, but if you want post cards to send home and brag about, try Indian Wells or Palm Desert instead -- you will pay 4X more but your Infiniti will be the cheapest car in the parking lot, and you'll feel like a pauper surrounded by all that wealth. Frankly, I'd rather go someplace where I can be myself without having to deal with snobs or worry about what others think. Mission Lakes is nice, not pretentious, and offers the same basic amenities as its more expensive competitors.

Hidden gem!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/05
Good facilities. Not crowded. Reasonably priced compared to many other desert clubs.
