No fun & No Whales
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/11/10
This was NOT a good experience. We went whale watching on May 4th, 2010. It was our first anniversary so we thought it'd be a good way to start off the day. The staff told us we were guaranteed to see whales.
It was windy and chilly...and within 30 minutes into the trip a large handful of people were very sea sick, including me. I've never been so sick in my life. My husband wasn't sick, so he was able to "watch" for whales - I didn't care about anything besides getting off the boat. He said they saw the back of one whale as he dove under and swam away. So, without any warning from the crew about the conidtion of the water, chance of sea sickness, and not supplying any water or paper towels for the sick people - it was hell for 4 hours. The crew didn't seem to care either way - customer service was horrible. It wasn't real expensive, but it was $30 to be sicker than sick for 4 hours and not even see any whales to make it worth while. Great way to spend our anniversary. I do NOT reccomend this company for whale watching in Monterey.
