food is greaaat never soggy people complain way to much !! Music great ! I loved the experience

We stopped at this place on the way out of the pier after attending the local sights on our last day in CA on our vacation. We had a party of only 5, and were sat at the front door. We specifically asked for a salad with NO croutons, due to a food allergy with 2 baked potatoes, 1 regular hamburger, 1 plain hamburger, 1 bacon cheese burger PLAIN, again due to a food allergy, and the salmon dinner for our food order. Our drinks were 5 waters, 1 diet coke, 1 Margarita, 1 fuzzy navel and one Jack Daniels/Orange Juice. The salad came out with croutons on it, the bacon cheese burger came out with tomato's and lettuce on it, the diet coke had a foul taste, and we had to ask another waitress for the fuzzy navel because our waitress had yet to bring it when the meals arrived. We sent back the salad and asked for a new one, the bacon cheese burger went back as well. The people having those items have food allergies and couldn't eat what was served. We also had to ask for a new diet coke and the water tasted very odd as well. The salad came back with only the croutons removed,you could see the dust from them on the bowl and they just took off the tomato and lettuce off of the bacon cheese burger. You could see the red on the soggy bun from the tomato and a piece of lettuce still sitting on the plate! NOTHING WAS REMADE! We had to ask for a manager and when he came to our table asked what he could do. We explained what went wrong and we were told it was busy, the waitress fell behind and it was a rarity. One person didn't eat dinner as we all were done by the time a new burger could be made. When we got the bill we couldn't read it! Her writing was illegible! We totaled the bill at the table and it was off by over $40.00!!! They added a gratuity! It states directly on the menu, gratuity added for PARTIES OF 6 OR MORE! ( again, we had only 5 people ) We again called for a manager and pointed out we couldn't read the bill, the bacon cheese burger was still on the bill and there were only 5 of us in the party. The manager left with the the bill and stated he re checked it "4 times" and we were assured it was correct. We didn't trust him and went through the bill with him there. As it turned out he still charged for the bacon cheese burger and the gratuity. While waiting for everything to be finished we see the table behind us having problems as well. Turns out the same waitress ruined their dinner as well, getting the child's order wrong ( he watched his family eat while he waited for his meal ) and they were also charged gratuity, they also had only 5 in their party. This time the waitress told them "NO, you're wrong. It's five people not six!" When the lady pointed it out on the menu, the waitress said, "OH! I didn't know that!" When we were leaving, they were still talking to the manager because their bill was CHARGED TWICE to their credit card! Over and over the manager told us that these mistakes were a rarity and I spoke up and asked "How is it a rarity when the waitress messed up two tables, back to back, both on the bills AND the food!?" He continued to state it's a rarity and they were busy and fell behind!! We demanded a re written bill so we could read it properly and it was never provided, we left the proper amount for the food we had and no tip. Oh yeah I almost forgot, during all this time, the waitress only checked on us once, didn't get refills on water or the diet coke, and stood talking to a guy that was hitting on her and getting her phone number!! This place expects you to just blindly pay your bill and move on because they are busy, it's a tourist location, and don't give a rat's behind about their customer service. DON'T GO, if you do, DOUBLE and TRIPLE check your bill total!

Probably a fun place to get drunk if ypu are rich. The food was nasty, except for the kids grilled cheese. Two adults and two kids=$50????. The prime rib sandwich would have been better from McDonalds, and it was the special. 2 kids apple juices, 1 coke, 1 ice tea, and 1 beer $20. This place sucks.........

Never a bad time. Some of the best Clam Chowder I've had. Nathalie Vera gave us excellent service.

The service was a little slow, but the chowder was by far the best I have ever tasted. Can't wait to go back!

Liked: uh.....the musician. Disliked: hair in the iced tea, soggy food, 20 minutes before they took our order, another 20 minutes to pay.....first and last time in 7 years or living in Monterey.

I LOVE THE PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE, ALWAYS FRIENDLY. I ALWAYS STOP IN FOR A BEER AND A CLAM CHOWDER BREAD BOWL!!! I LOVE THERE BREAD BOWLS, I DONT KNOW IF THEY MAKE THE BREAD BOWLS OR BUY THEM BUT THERE GREAT!!! BEST TASTING SOURDOUGH I EVER HAD!!!

We didn't come here to drink, but only to have dinner. It was the absolute worst dinner I have ever had. We had a total of eight people and everyone's food was awful except for the kids' chicken fingers.

Visiting Monterey last February for the Pebble Beach Pro Am and looking for some live music, I found Sly McFly's. What a great evening! Great service, drinks and the band was incredible. It is now an annual trip to the golf tournament and Sly McFly's will always be a part of it.
