Description

What started out as a natural arroyo filled with water from a stream is now a notable expansive park and famous neighborhood. Formerly known as Elendale, Echo Park consists of 26 acres of greenery and a beautiful lake. Based on a design by Joseph Henry Tomlinson, the park is beautifully conceptualized. Tours of the park are available, which includes the other neighborhood landmarks like the historic Baxter Steps and the Echo Park boathouse. Festivals and other cultural activities too are held in this neighborhood and park with great furor and enthusiasm.

born and raised here in echo park i would say echo park is my favorite place to be! everyone is so nice here more new people have moved in but theres still those same people they are some shootings here but you know i think its worth it i want to die here i wouldnt want to go anywhere else in the world other than ECHO PARK!

Nice view, but dirty

Very nice view. but very dirty. A lot of people through garbage on the floor. so dirty. but the view was really nice. (only the park)

ECHO PARK IS DANGEROUS AFTER DARK

ITS A NICE PLACE DURING THE DAY TIME BUT ONE NIGHT MY FRIEND AND HIS BUDDYS WERE WALKING TO THE ECHO PARK LAKE AND GOT INTO THE MIDDLE OF A GANG CROSSFIRE AND GOT SHOT IN THE CHEST. HE SURVIVED THANK GOD! BUT HE SUFFERED..I WOULD STAY INSIDE AFTER DARK IF I LIVED THERE

Your little getaway!

I LOVE ECHO PARK. However, I am not a visitor -- I used to live around the Echo Park area. I have never gotten sick of it though. Every evening during the summer, I would run around the lake and there are always vendors selling ice cream around. It's a cute place to go to with a lover. It can be a miniature getaway. Going around July is fun because there's the Lotus Festival. The festival celebrates cultures and a firework show at night follows, which is always fun for the kids!

echo park brings nothing but great memorys, as a child i can remember fishing for blue gills off the bridge that connect the island were i would spend hours exploring,and walking from one end of the park to the other with my kid brother and seeing the beautiful downtown skyline at a distance, i will always have fond memorys of echo park

This was a nice place to just sit back and relax for the afternoon. It's a small park, but it has an amazing downtown LA backdrop. You couldn't get it anywhere else!

Really good place to visit

Real good place to go. Me and my wife went this place and we did boating. It was nice place. but I really feel that this place really needs cleaning. And should ban smoking in this place.

I Liked many things in this palce such as Echo park it is so beautiful once you arrive you never wanna leave.The hotelsare amzing such as the Four Seasons Hotel I might have not exsactly seen all of it but just seeing part of it well it's so amazibg!Just the whole overview of Los Angeles it's amazing ,if I could I could live there!!

early run in the park

It's a great place to run. Th edistance round the lake is pretty much the same as a standard track so you can really gauge your distance well. There is public water and restrooms available..however these are shared by the homeless of downtown so it's up to you.They have cleaned the park a lot recently and keep the gardens clean and groomed.. I recommend daytime only as the area still has a little way to go..

A Place to relax!

As a newcomer to Downtown LA, finding this park has been wonderful. This is a place to jog and just get way from the hustle of city life. However it is still close enough to downtown to have magnificent views. As a tourist I'm not sure how intresting this park would be but if you want some down time with a snack of roasted corn and flavored ice (snowcones)this is the place.
