Bring four of your friends
I like Scholl Canyon GC. It's a good place to work on your short game, as the greens are sloping but the speed is slow. You can leave your driver at home, and replace it with an extra wedge.
There are only a few places to lose your ball, and they are on the back nine, and usually only affect right-handed slicers. The exception is the short 14th, which people tend to over/under-hit into a gulley. Some people will actually back up on the 14th to hit an easier, longer shot, but remember: in stroke play there is a 2-stroke penalty for teeing outside the box. Just bring a lob wedge.
Another good thing is that they allow five-somes.
They have a good driving range, and their putting green accurately simulates your round of golf there in terms of slope/speed.
All this, and a nice view of the Valley (as you watch your sliced drive head in that direction!)
A downside is that they charge each rider the full cost of a cart rental when sharing. By that reasoning, each player should get their own cart.
Another downside is their food is slightly overpriced. Not outrageously, but $2.50 for a microwaved hot dog is a bit much. The kitchen staff is very friendly though, as are all the employees I've dealt with.
