This annual festival hosts some of the big names in jazz, reggae and hip hop. Situated on the UCLA campus, guests get a first-hand view of the splendid academic environment and as would be expected, the festival garners a youthful crowd. With one day devoted to jazz and another to reggae, the artists on the two day bill do not limit themselves strictly to genre. As a result, there's always something for everybody at this diverse, exciting festival. The website is updated with information as soon as it becomes available.

Amazing!
By ks, 05/16/09
Some of the biggest names for only $25??! You can't get much better than that. Two days of great music, food, atmosphere, and Los Angeles weather makes this one of the most amazing festivals I've been to! Plus, I'm very impressed by their conscious effort to make this a sustainable festival. If you're anywhere near So Cal (or even if you're not) this Memorial Day weekend you have GOT to make it out!

UCLA campus
By CamilleN, 09/23/06
As an alternative to the smog, smugness and plasticity that characterizes LA,a tour of a local univercity is the way to proceed. Westwood UCLA campus is like finding a pocketful of wilderness in a large urban setting. The terrain of the campus is hilly and sloping, evergreen trees are those pointy ponderosa pines that seem to be always signaling directions as well as trees of hardwood variety.Along one stretch of trees is a bank of seating that allows for rest and relaxation amid the towering trees.Lots of pine cones cover the ground and make for natural souveniers of one's visit. The Spanish architectural quality of the buildings are reminiscent of Berkeley campus, orange tile roofs and cream edifices. And fountains spray the air with splashing waters. The main buildings here are the UCLA campus bookstore,Powell library and Ackerman student center. Each one offering interesting items and activities.Housed inside the student ctr. are scads of places to dine in and to grab a quick snack as well as pc kiosk stations to check email, etc. Here too is a travel office that can book vacations and voyages at reduced rates. UCLA Westwood is more than a university its a nice respite from "urbanville" USA.
